This self-commissioned project is both a tribute to the album Doolittle by Pixies, which we love, and an experiment in tangible typography.
For each of the fifteen songs from the album we designed a typographic vinyl cover with letters made of various materials, crafted by hand, sometimes designed by us and sometimes based on existing typefaces. We focus mainly on the exploration of form and how real, human-made, 3D typography can be used to create poetic, emotional images.
