The Yiddishland series published by the Jewish Historical Institute consists of translations of various works originally written in Yiddish.

The Memoirs of Glückel of Hameln is a diary of a businesswoman who lived in the 17th and 18th centuries, mainly in Hamburg. She traveled extensively and described not only her experiences and life philosophy but also important historical events. It is one of few surviving texts written by a Jewish woman in the modern era.

The book design uses primarily typographic solutions; the cover is built around a quote from the diary. The book is printed with only two colors.
