To celebrate the centenary of the birth of professor Władysław Jackiewicz, an exceptional painter and educator, the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk published an album presenting his life and art.
Over 700 pages long, the book contains articles, richly illustrated biographical texts and, most of all, an abundance of Jackiewicz's works: not only paintings but also drawings, photographs, tapestry designs. The book is published in two languages.
The book cover is produced of uncoated opalescent flesh-colored paper. On it a female silhouette inspired by one of Jackiewicz's paintings is printed with white paint so that it is not immediately visible. This emphasizes how the nude, though not taken literally, was the professor's main artistic interest. Jackiewicz's name is hot-stamped with vivid blue foil. Inside fleshy pinks and beiges contrast with ultramarine and blues to reflect the themes and colors of the artist's works.
