The book accompanied an exhibition in the Museum of Gdańsk, which presented the history of Gdańsk's public beaches up until 1939 through historical materials: photographs, postcards, maps.

The book includes many archival materials from the exhibition with articles about the history of Gdańsk as a sea resort. Each chapter focuses on one particular beach area.

The authors allowed us to edit the materials so that they remain interesting for the reader even in their mass. We created a cheerful color palette reminiscent of old lithographs and we colored some of the photos.

We also used a striped ornament inspired by historical bathing costumes to organize the book's layout. The same ornament is printed on the cover and its flaps with glossy spot varnish over matte foil.
