The book, published by Zajezdnia History Center, is the first in a new series, which presents historical studies about the territories incorporated into Poland in 1945.
The first volume contains essays that analyze the historical, social and economic aspects of life in the countryside in the west and north parts of Poland. The appearance of the series is a nod to modernist design. Simple pictogram-like illustrations function as ornaments throughout the book. The title and some of the ornaments on the cover and on the spine are printed with golden foil.
